WASHINGTON, DC and SEATTLE, WA – May 13, 2008 - Mobile content and platform provider Distributive Networks and leading mobile interactivity expert SinglePoint today announced that Obama Mobile has won the 2008 Mobile Messaging Award in the category of the Messaging Application: Public Sector or Not for Profit. This was one of five awards presented jointly by Informa Telecoms & Media and mobile industry group, 160 Characters, during the 8th Annual Global Messaging Congress held in Cannes, France on May 8-9, 2008.

As stated in the award announcement, "To date, no other political campaign or non-profit has offered so comprehensive or so effective a mobile messaging program, and one so well customized for the true nature of the mobile medium." The Messaging Application category won by Obama Mobile recognizes "the organization that has used mobile messaging to the best effect by providing an effective information or feedback service, alerts or awareness campaign."

Obama Mobile is powered by Distributive Networks' innovative text messaging and content management platform, with messages and downloads delivered in partnership with SinglePoint, which offers a full suite of services that make it fast and easy to create, launch and manage interactive mobile campaigns. The technology was also awarded the 2008 Golden Dot Award for Best Mobile/Text Messaging Campaign.

Obama Mobile provides supporters with breaking news, issue updates, wallpapers, ringtones, and allows them to text in feedback or questions directly to the campaign. To participate, mobile device users can simply text the word GO to OBAMA (62262), or visit www.barackobama.com/mobile.

The Mobile Messaging Awards are the only industry awards that are solely dedicated to mobile messaging, and cover the whole range of mobile messaging types from SMS and MMS, to mobile IM, mobile email and voice-messaging. Nominations were open to companies from across the globe that have launched messaging products, services or initiatives since April 2007, with the winners selected by a panel of distinguished industry judges.
